Wild California
California Wildflower surround a Valley Oak near Chico California.
A friend and I went searching for wildflowers a few hours north of Sacramento last weekend and scored some really nice drifts. The Oaks were leafing out with their beautiful spring green foliage, and the wildflowers were abundant. We arrived really late on Saturday afternoon, and discovered most of the Poppies were closed due to lack of sun and warmth. We ended up staying the night, and hiked all over the hills on Sunday. At the very end of our shoot we discovered hills and canyons completely filled with California Poppies. It was pretty amazing!
